Okay, okay, I see that HEATED RIVALRY reference on the top line. I just started watching the show, so no spoilers, please!
I got caught out by a red herring immediately. I figured WAR would go with what turned out to be the yellows. Opting for DISCORD, RIVALRY and CONFLICT as its partners put me one away from a group.
Then, instead of doing the smart thing and forgetting about that group temporarily, I tried to brute force it with different combinations of those four words and FRICTION. I got the yellows eventually, but I’d lost three lives and was in sudden-death mode already. Uh oh.
At least I got the purples next. BULLSEYE (Bulls) and NETSCAPE (Nets) made that clear enough to me. APPROX and LIKE then helped me get the blues.
I wouldn’t necessarily have thought WAR was a game of chance, but I didn’t know much about it anyway. Still, I should have figured out the green category more specifically than just “games.”
Hubris almost cost me my streak today, but I’m up to 340 wins in a row. Just 25 more to go for a full year!
